Mighty victory Despite No Shows and Drop outs

Jemile Al-Darraji never turned up nor did his friend.Doc Bell damaged his ankle a few days before playing tennis and a host of reseves missed out on a good game. Harry Bell stepped in for Dad and Martyrs provided a player.

If your availability changes do let the Match Manager know as soon as possible.there are often many who wish to play in these games.

Martyrs won the toss and elected to bat.Simon collins had Thorns fast and furious at one end and Blumberg extremely slow at the other.this combination was not a great success until a break for ashower and blumberg had Sutton caught behind first ball.

The introduction of Woolhouse  brought steady results while John Barrat plundered runs at both ends. woolhouse bowled Barrett soon after he had completed a century and then had Lawton-Smith lbw.Although Blumberg took two more wickets Martyrs'8th wicket pair still managed to take the score up to a formidable 263.

Alexander and Stokes took advantage of some wayward bowling to set up an opening partnership of 187 at great pace hitting 8 sixes between them and both completing centuries.Thorns and Woolhouse took Nomads to a commanding victory with a dozen overs still to be bowled.

We were very lucky with the weather suffering only one stoppage in the morning session. The hospitality of the Martyrs was much appreciated by nomads who fed extremely well.

Jscelyn Galsworthy the renown painter of cricket matches was at her easel all day.You will be informed of the finished result and availability of prints in due course.
