Welcome to our on-line training section!

Using screen capture software we have made a series of video demonstrations that take you through the basic steps of signing in to your web site, adding pages, moving them about, adding content to them and editing them.

This is an innovative idea that makes it easier than ever before to learn how to edit your web site.

We suggest that you watch the demonstation video that applies to what you want to do all the way through - they are between 3 and 9 minutes long - by viewing them at full screen [press the escape key to return to normal screen view]. We then suggest that you open your site in a new window and than watch the video again in the normal screen view, pressing pause at the appropriate places whilst you implement what you want to do in your own web site.

The great thing about this system is that you can learn at your own speed. The demonstrations are only saying what we would say to you over the phone AND you have the added benefit of actually seeing the appropriate place on the page where the mouse is clicking or doing its stuff! Furthermore, you can keep coming back to watch them or be reminded of anything that you have forgotten or which isn't clear whenever you want to.

We are adding new demonstrations all the time, and we are re-assessing the ones we have already uploaded. If we think we can do them better - or differently, we'll do so. If there is something that you would specifically like to learn, let us know and we will make a demonstration video for you and post it on this page so it is of help not just to you but to all our clients.

Useful Tools to help you to resize images

One of the common mistakes when using images on the Internet is to upload an image that is far larger than necessary. for example, if you try and upload an image that is - say - 3mb and then show it as a thumbnail on your site, it will actually still be a 3mb image! It's far better to re-size it first [as a guide you'd never need to show a landscape image bigger than 800 pixels wide, and a portrait 500 pixels wide], and then edit its attributes further once you have uploaded it.

You can download the trial version of Batch Image Resizer 2.88 from

http://www.download.com/Batch-Image-Resizer/3000-2192_4-10248013.html FREE OF CHARGE.

This enables you to re-size up to six images at once.

There is also another web site called www.pixlr.com that enables you to upload and resize images on-line. It's a free service.

Otherwise, you'll need to purchase some photo/image editing software such as Paint Shop Pro.

NB: The demos below are easier to see if you open them up fullscreen. Then press your escape key to return to normal view.
